The Gambler

I created this piece using lost wax casting methods. I originally made the bezel out of wax and cast it into pure silver, then oxidizing it to create the patina. The bezel was created to accentuate the history of the stone. The stone, or in this case, the coin is set into the bezel after it is polished. This coin is a Carved mother of pearl Chinese gambling token used by the British in the 17 and 1800s when they occupy China the characters on the front as well as the back, the initial, are very rare and highly prized. I finish this piece with silver seed pearls and 14 karat gold filled findings. This necklace is an adjustable 19 inches.
