Starry Night Earrings

These earrings are created using two methods. First, the sunflowers are carved out of wax and then cast it into solid silver. The silver is then oxidized, burnished, polished, and then set into a bezel using bead embroidery techniques. The bezel is created by handstitching gold coated Japanese glass beads around they found object. The object in these earrings are the silver flowers as well as Alaskan abalone. The backs are finished with Ultrasuede, a man-made material that withstands the elements. The earring wires and findings on these earrings are non-tarnish 14 karat gold, and these earrings are 3 inches long.
