Naupaka and Apatite Ring
This ring is created by using the lost wax casting method to create a one of a kind ring with my signature Naupaka Blossom and a striking ocean blue Apatite. The legend of the Blossom is that half of the flower lives in the mountains and half lives by the ocean, and it is two lovers that were separated, Pele’s sister and her beloved. This ring represents the bloom found Makai, or Oceanside.
I use different types of wax to create a bezel, shank, and ring band. The wax model is then casted into solid silver. Once the ring is solid metal, it is annealed, all the extra bits of metal that are not part of the design are ground off and filed away, the ring is polished, and then the stone is set. For this design I chose a rustic look with bright silver and simple granulation. This ring is size 6.
