Kauai Sunrise Shell Pendant #2
I created this handmade piece of jewelry by beading gold coated Japanese glass beads around a Kauai sunrise shell. Sunrise shells are indigenous to Hawaii and are a type of scallop called Langford’s Pectin, which are a delicacy to local octopus. They are loved for their colors and rarity, are considered a gemstone of Hawaii, and were worn by royalty in the original Hawaiian Kingdom.
The back of the shell is Ultrasuede for maximum comfort and style. This shell is 1 1/4 inches in diameter and has a bill for a chain which is 4 mm wide. Does not include a chain.
