Kauai Sunrise Shell Necklace
A rare Scallop Shell, a delicacy for local octopus and other predatory marine creatures here in Hawaii, is called the Langford’s Pectin. The animals “shuck” them to the sea floor here in Hawaii and they can be found if you dive for them and have luck and a good eye. The natural array of spectacular colors has made them a highly prized gemstone of Hawaii and I honor them by using my skillful hand and bead embroidery techniques to make them into treasured jewelry pieces. This orange and grey tiger striped shell is unique and is 1” long and wide. Finished on the back with grey ultra suede for comfort and style. On an adjustable 18” chain with moonstone.
