Kauai Sunrise Shell and Malachite Earrings
These Statement Earrings are made with Malachite Slices and Kauai Sunrise Shells. A rare Scallop Shell, a delicacy for local octopus and other predatory marine creatures here in Hawaii, is called the Langford’s Pectin. The animals “shuck” them to the sea floor here in Hawaii and they can be found if you dive for them and have luck and a good eye. The natural array of spectacular colors has made them a highly prized gemstone of Hawaii and I honor them by using my skillful hand and bead embroidery techniques to make them into treasured jewelry pieces. The beading is done with gold coated glass seed beads and the earrings are 2 1/4” long. Camel ultra suede on the back for comfort and style.
