Apophyllite and Sunrise Shell Chip necklace

This necklace is created by using bead embroidery techniques. A bezel is hand stitched around rare shell chips using gold coated Japanese glass beads to create the design. The shell used in this is an indigenous scallop called Langford’s Pectin or Sunrise. It is connected to gold filled chain with 14 karat gold filled findings.  The back of the chips are finished with ultra suede, a man-made fabric that holds up to the elements and this piece is an adjustable 22 inches long.
